We opened our atelier in Brazil just outside Salvador in 2012 and have since expanded and further improved the working conditions for our employees. It now resides in a building called Lacres, which means bottle top in Portuguese.
We now employ over 20 mostly female artisans in the atelier, and we also provide training in the skills required for our signature weaving techniques. Our workers earn 45% more than the Brazilian industry average.
Our bags are designed in-house in London by Roosa Tulvio, who then travels to Brazil every season to work closely alongside the artisans to create our beautiful finished products.
BOTTLETOP’s signature Mistura braiding technique blends upcycled metal with Zero Deforestation Amazon leather in a unique, complex weave that is created by hand.
